Jasper de Buyst (Lotto Dstny) flashed at high speed on the Egmont Cycling Race

The 193.5 kilometer route ending in Zottegem largely uses its training roads. The Belgian sprinter thus knows every corner of the course but also the pitfalls to avoid during the various hills and cobbled sections.

The nervous race was finally played out in a sprint in a restricted committee. A few kilometers from the finish, Arjen Livyns did a lot of work at the front of the peloton to come back to a rider who had escaped and allow his teammate to compete for his chances.

At 300 meters, Jasper already starts his sprint... He manages to keep a substantial lead on the line despite the lactic acid paralyzing his legs. The marshals will however use the photo finish to decide between the two riders and will designate him as the winner.

A second success for the Lotto-Dstny rider in this event after 2017.
