The 63rd edition of "la race of grapes" rewarded one of the most offensive runners of the summer. This Tour de France definitely has many surprises in store... Although the riders are tired after 18 very demanding stages, they continue to put on a show of rare intensity. Bryan Coquard (COFIDIS) slipped into the first breakaway of the day with one objective in mind: to win the intermediate sprint. Mission accomplished at kilometer 48, he was the fastest and collected 20 points. With 84 points, he is now a solid runner-up to Philipsen.  Belgian Victor Campenaerts (Lotto-Dstny) broke away with Van Aert and Mads Pedersen. They were caught less than 3 kilometers from the top of the Col de Soudet.  Israel Premier-Tech rider Krists Neilands briefly went it alone on the Col d'Ichère.

Victor Campenaerts took an incredible 3rd stage win at this year's Giro d'Italia for the Qhubeka ASSOS team on stage 15, which ended in Gorizia. The win follows triumphs by his teammates, Mauro Schmid and Giacomo Nizzolo, on stages 11 and 13 respectively. The Qhubeka ASSOS team, which has already achieved the best Giro d'Italia in its history, started the 147-kilometer stage 15 with the clear intention of continuing to chase success. From the start, Campenaerts and teammate Max Walscheid were the first two riders to attack. After getting an initial gap, the race was neutralized due to a massive crash in the peloton, including Mauro Schmid, who was able to continue but suffered multiple wounds on his right side. Victor Campenaerts took victory in the Tour de Louvain after a strong performance from the Lotto Soudal team. With Zdenek Stybar, the 30-year-old Belgian started the last local lap on the difficult urban course of Leuven with a lead of around thirty seconds.
