10 seconds... Faster than any of his rivals, Kévin Vauquelin (22) won the final stage of the 54th Etoile de Bessèges, a 10.5 kilometre individual time trial.
The young rider from Arkéa B&B Hôtels was impressive, particularly on the final climb to l'Ermitage, finishing 10 seconds ahead of his direct rival in the time-trial classification, the experienced specialist Mads Pedersen.
It was his first win of the season and his first victory in a time trial. Best young rider, he narrowly missed out on the overall title by just 2 seconds.
It was the first success of the year for the Breton team and also the first for the new Ekoï time trial suit !
