The Tour de Vendée, last round of the Coupe de France FDJ, will remain in collective memories for being the first race won by Arnaud Démarre under his new colors.
On the occasion of Laurent Pichon's (Arkéa-Samsic) last stand before his sporting retirement, the entire red and black team was mobilized to put the new sprinter from the Breton house into orbit.
Assuming their responsibilities very early in the race, the teammates of Clément Russo (Arkéa-Samsic) controlled the breakaways and led a strong pace as they approached the final circuit.
Well carried into the final hectometers and also benefiting from the work of his former training, Arnaud Démarre shows himself to be the fastest and offers himself a first bouquet in the Arkéa jersey. He dethrones Bryan Coquard (winner in 2022), at the foot of the podium.
