After his serious injury last May during the 4 days of Dunkirk, Arnaud De Lie is above all looking for confidence, especially since his return race during the Belgian Road Championships gave little cause for satisfaction. After an anecdotal 57th place, the 21-year-old Belgian is looking to regain his form at the start of the season.
With 5 stages, several of which are intended for sprinters and punchers, the Tour de Wallonie is ideal for rediscovering the pleasure of victory. Between St-Ghislain and Walcourt (stage 2) on a hilly profile, Axel, Arnaud's brother controls the gap which separates the peloton and the race leader. As expected, everything will be a sprint. Well carried by his pilot fish up to 250 meters, Arnaud overtook his opponents and won with surprising ease, stopping his effort upstream of the line. Thanks to the bonus game, he also took the leader's red jersey.
With such a color, the “Taureau de Lescheret” has not finished blowing its horns...
