Lotto Soudal rider Arnaud De Lie won his very first victory in Wallonia today in Rochefort. The 20-year-old Belgian largely won the sprint during the third stage of the Tour de Wallonie, disputed between Visé and Rochefort. At the end of a hilly course, De Lie beat Biniam Girmay and Axel Laurance. Arnaud De Lie now has seven wins this season and takes Lotto Soudal's total to twenty wins in 2022.
“I like the victory, it is fantastic to have been able to win for the seventh time today. I would have already been happy with just one victory this season, so it exceeds all my expectations. Everything that happens now is just a bonus, although of course I want to keep the momentum going. Tomorrow’s stage still has quite a bit of elevation, we will see the race end again in a sprint in Couvin”
