The cross-country
The cross-country (XC) is the premier event in mountain biking. It is a timed event that takes place in a circuit in which riders all race together. It has been an Olympic discipline since 1996.
The cross-country marathon
The cross-country marathon is a variation of cross-country that is run over long distances, individually or in teams.
The Downhill
The downhill (DH) is another premier mountain bike discipline and arguably one of the most spectacular. It is a timed event on a specially laid out track where riders take off one after the other.
The Marathon Downhill
The marathon downhill is a variation of the downhill. It takes place over longer distances and participants start in groups.
The freeride
In the spirit, freeride is about riding free from the rules. This discipline is considered one of the most extreme according to some mountain bikers who don't hesitate to ride down dangerous places like canyons in search of thrills.
The Enduro
Enduro is a discipline that emerged in the 2000s. Very popular, it is a synthesis of two other disciplines: cross-country and downhill, with a focus on downhill.
The all-mountain
The all mountain (or mountain bike) is an ideal discipline for mountain enthusiasts that is practiced without a competitive spirit.
Mountain Biking
The Mountain Bike Hiking can be practiced by anyone, regardless of their athletic level. One goal: to have fun and enjoy the scenery.
The mountain bike street
The street VTT is practiced in the city. Natural obstacles are thus replaced by urban furniture (stairs, sidewalks, etc.) to perform jumps and tricks.
Trials
The trial consists of overcoming obstacles, natural or artificial, on a bicycle without putting your foot on the ground with the tires as your only support.
Dirt
The dirt, inspired by BMX, consists of riding over artificial bumps on a dirt track while performing acrobatic tricks.
The dual slalom
In dual slalom, racers race in pairs and compete on two parallel downhill tracks. It is the ancestor of four cross.
The four cross
The four cross is a discipline that involves racing down a downhill course lined with moguls in which riders race four at a time.
slopestyle
Inspired by dirt, the slopestyle involves performing tricks on dirt bumps or wooden stepping stones in front of a panel of judges.
